4) How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

During the construction and research stages I used the media technologies:

- Video Camera
- Corel (a video editing software)
- Adobe After Effects CS4
- Computer
- Internet
- Adobe Photoshop CS5
- Photography Camera

Trailer: Using a video camera I began to collect footage for my trailer, so that I could begin the construction of my supernatural horror. I used Coral to piece together the trailer from the footage I took. To me the trailer flow and tell a brief story. I used Adobe After Effects CS4 to add professional titles and text to my trailer to make it more interesting.

Film Magazine Cover: Using a photography camera I took a selection of pictures for my film cover. Then I use Adobe Photoshop CS5 to manipulate the images to create a desired effect. The I added text in interesting fonts and bright colours to entice audiences. Lastly I put a barcode on the magazine to make it more authentic.

Film Poster: Using a photography camera I took two pictures to make my poster.Then I used Photoshop CS5 to manipulate the images cutting one into the other and then added an effect over the pictures, using black and white and some saturated colour. Finally I added some text with effects added so that the text stood out from the poster.

Professional Feedback

This shows that I have gone to the trouble of finding asking ex-media students who have now past on into other media pathways such as university and media jobs.

From the image above we can see that Matt and Tom both liked the the framing of my shots during the trailer. We can also see that they liked the fact that I cut from moving image to text during the trailer and commented that the text reflect the moving image that came after it. They also said that overall the flow of the film was good.

However they did warn me to be careful of my editing as if I cut the moving image and text too much they would be gone in a blink of an eye. Which would be problematic as it would confuse the audiences.
